MiT Awards Application 2017-18

This application is for non-loan aid opportunities available for the 2017-18 academic year (Fall 2017, Winter 2018 & Spring 2018) for MiT students. Please see the MiT Costs and Financial Aid page for a description of the awards you can apply for in this application. The MiT Financial Assistance Awards application is due no later than April 7, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. Awards applications may be submitted after this date, but available funds may be exhausted or very limited. Apply for MiT Financial Assistance Awards even if you have yet to be accepted to the MiT program.

File the FAFSA form by February 1, 2017 to be considered for all types of aid. FAFSA forms filed after February 1 will not be considered for The Evergreen State College Need Grants, but will still be considered for scholarships and loans. All FAFSA applicants will be considered for partial tuition waivers based on financial need. For questions about the FAFSA, student loans, or Evergreen Need Grants, please contact the Evergreen Financial Aid Office at (360) 867-6205. For specific questions about MiT scholarships and waivers please contact MiT Associate Director Maggie Foran at foranm@evergreen.edu.

MiT applicants may apply for MiT financial assistance awards, but awards will not be finalized until applicants have been admitted to the program, paid their enrollment deposit, and returned the award confirmation form. Please note that available funds for MiT awards and 2017-18 tuition and fees are subject to Washington State Legislature budget adjustments, and to changes by The Evergreen State College Board of Trustees and The Evergreen State College Foundation. Notification of MiT awards begins after May 1, 2017. Federal and private loans and The Evergreen State College Need Grants are awarded by the Financial Aid Office.

If you have questions about the admission process, please contact Maggie Foran at (360) 867-6559 or at foranm@evergreen.edu

Your "financial need" is determined by Evergreen's Financial Aid Office after receipt and processing of the FAFSA and is used in the decisions about MiT awards. MiT cannot consider you for our awards until this information is on file. Because funds are limited, it is strongly suggested that you submit your FAFSA to the processor by January 25, 2017, so that a fully processed FAFSA is received by Evergreen by February 1, 2017. These awards are provided in addition to other need-based financial aid (such as grants or loans) offered through The Evergreen State College Financial Aid Office (Library 1200J, 360-867-6205). BY SUBMITTING MY APPLICATION, I AGREE THAT THE INFORMATION ON THIS APPLICATION IS ACCURATE AND TRUE, AND THAT THE WORDS, CONCEPTS AND IDEAS IN THE ESSAYS ARE MY OWN.
